Residential development in Harvey Park South began in the early 50s, and includes low-density, single family ranch homes and several sought-after mid-century homes. The neighborhoods curved streets are different than the traditional grid pattern of the city to the north, and community shopping centers sit on the edges along Federal and Sheridan Boulevards. The area features the former Loretto Heights College campus, which is currently being redeveloped into a multi-use community including apartments, single-family housing, and commercial development The campus’ most prominent structure is the iconic red-hued, five-story administration building, that rests on a hilltop, will be preserved
